It’s the weekend!

May 19, 2012

And it’s time to relax and enjoy the sunshine!
Here’s a little intro into what’s keeping me smiling.

* ACRE/SF
Came upon this store on Union St the other day while I was strolling through the city, and accidentally came to a dead end. It’s located on the top of a hill, with views of the city and the ocean, its gorgeous. Not only that, you have an awesome clothes selection to browse through, Blue Bottle Coffee to sip on, and if you’re feeling a little low on sugar, some IT’S ITS to enjoy on a hot day. The perfect trifecta.

* SCRIBE WINERY
Ok, this is my next stop when I head up to wine country. Firstly, it’s such a great story. Andrew Mariani, the owner, had no background in wine, went to Greece to work at a vineyard for a year, came back and with his dreams and newfound knowledge created this wonderful, eclectic winery that brings people together, plus it’s getting a lot of great reviews and press. It also features some of the best chefs in the city coming in to host pop up dinners and events. I’m seriously in love. It’s so inspiring to see people make their dreams a reality.

* WAFFLES AT ROOST
Roost, a blog founded by Coco, journeys a couple and their dietary changes (removing gluten, sugar, grains, lactose and more) and the adventures they have making delicious food. It’s really one of the most gorgeous blogs I’ve seen, beautiful pictures and just a comforting, homey feel. It’s wonderful how people all around us constantly inspire us to try out new things, be it recipes, career choices or building bigger dreams. Like these waffles, how good do they look?! Definitely on the menu for sunday brunch!

No words for it, just press for drama. It’s amazing, hilarious and oh so dramatic! I can’t believe I’m only discovering this now…

* CAFE DREAMIN’
Came upon these pictures this past week, and ahhh, my love affair with cafes begins yet again. It just brings back this crazy love for cafe culture, an appreciation of spending time with friends, drinking coffee, enjoying simple food & catching up on good times. Yes, I can dream too…

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Heath Ceramics

May 3, 2012

I’m in love with their colors for spring & summer. Don’t you just want to host a little garden party showcasing them? A fresh asparagus salad and some local cheeses from the farmer’s market, a baguette from Acme, a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc + some good company… I think I know what I’m doing this weekend!

Heath Ceramics has been around since 1948, producing lovely mid-century design pieces in small runs in their Sausalito factory. If you are ever up in the Bay Area, check out their home base in Sausalito, and take a tour of their original pottery, from clay-making to kiln-firing, plus you might be lucky and get some of their highly coveted items at discounted prices (due to overstock, inventory changes daily.)

March Pantry

April 28, 2012

March, located in Laurel Heights, carries beautiful pieces for the kitchen, pantry and table — plus a line of their own jams, herbs and olive oils, sourced from local purveyors under the name March Pantry. They also host occasional in-store dinners + suppers using their gorgeous Aga stove.

Oh. So. Dreamy.

I think I’ve found my new favorite store…

For her, it’s about the small details that enrich your daily life and home, what separates your living space from others and makes it truly special. Theurel & Thomas

March 14, 2012

Wow! I think I died and went to macaron heaven. The white walls and porcelain pieces really contrast against the colorful macarons, and the logo really emphasizes the elegance and value of this delicate little French specialty.

Located in San Pedro, Mexico, Theurel & Thomas is a pâtisserie specializing in macarons. Their rebranding was done by Anagrama. What a great job, really loving their look, especially their packaging and stationery!

Now, who’s ready for a Champagne & Macaron party?

Beet Lovin’

March 13, 2012

Tiger in a Jar, a husband + wife duo shot this gorgeous video, inspiring us to try this recipe out. A wonderful reminder of the beauty and emotion in cooking and baking, the different textures and scents. In a way, its very therapeutic (even just watching). So get baking! Plus I hear the beet cake is delicious.
