Melt butter and allow to cool.
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Add sugar and vanilla and whisk well, about 1 minute.

Add egg yolk and whisk until well combined.

In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda and fine sea salt. Whisk until well dispersed.
1 cup all purpose flour, 1 tsp fine sea salt, ¼ tsp baking soda
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
Whisk until just combined.
Add chocolate morsels and fold into batter.
¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Use 2 tablespoon scoop to scoop dough and place on baking sheet.
Refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 F.
Bake for 13 minutes, or until edges are browned and beginning to crisp. Remove from oven and allow to cool on baking sheet.
